Event Details

The Club is a co-organiser (along with Rotary Club of Cockburn Inc.) of the annual “ Coogee Jetty to Jetty” swim . Almost all members are involved in some capacity on the day of the event, with a sub-committee organising all aspects of next year's swim almost as soon as the current swim is completed.

The "Coogee Jetty to Jetty" event is a special community event which provides a great opportunity for participants to take part as well as raising funds for local community projects administered through Cockburn Masters and Rotary Club of Cockburn. This achievement was recognised formally through the event being awarded the "Premier's Australia Day ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP Award for a community group or event " at the 2009 Australia Day ceremony at the CIty of Cockburn.

The event is held on the 1st Sunday in March following the Labour Day long weekend and is a very popular part of the annual OWS calendar because it takes place in the clear sheltered waters between Coogee Beach and Woodman Point. It starts with a 1,500m walk along the beach (or 750m for the less ambitious) and then a swim back This combined walk and swim event is one of those rare community events with competitors ranging from 8 years through to 85 years old.

2010 Event Details & Results

This year's event will be held on Sunday 7th March 2010 and Port Coogee developer, Australand is again generously supporting the event as major naming rights sponsor.

The easiest and quickest way to enter the event is to complete an online registration. This year we are using the expertise of Streamlined Events to co-ordinate the online registration process.

If you do not have a credit card, feel free to use an manual Entry Form which can be printed and sent in with your registration fee by last mail on Tuesday 2nd March 2010.

The race day timetable will be based on the following:

7.00am - Registrations Open

7.50am - Registrations Close

8.00am - Race Briefing (Woodman's Point Jetty)

8.10am - Walk to Starting Points

8.30am - Race Starts (Both 750m & 1500m)

9.40am - Race Concludes

9.50am - Finishing Biscuit Number Times Available

10.30am - Presentations
